we had the complete opposite happen to one of our kittens 2 weeks ago. The savage kittens (except for tucker, we kept him) went to a farm a couple of weeks ago. They were doing fine outside and the wonderful lady that adopted them, brought them inside every evening, so nothing would happen to them.
one night she forgot to put them away. the kittens were having a ball and they found a new toy to play with. the only problem was, the toy was a opposum. it killed one kitten and left the others head with a huge gash in it.
after this happened i have decided it probably didnt help to raise these kittens inside with a very friendly iguana that loved them. or at least didnt mind them. she was always letting the babies play with her tail, with not even a head bob. now when all four were hanging off her cage, she went into mom mode and sneezed and head bobbed at them until they minded her!:o)
but i do think the kittens were so adapted to strange animals that they didnt realize that there are things out there that want to eat them.everything to them is purely entertainment.
ok now that i have no ones attention anymore,i will shut up and quit rambling. but i do think that with lots of supervision, your cat will understand that minga and her friends are pets not to be eaten. my 3 cats have. mine are more interested in jumping in the veggie bowl while i make the ig salad. they all love eating the greens and veggies. how weird they are!!
