A friend of mine wants to give me a 4 1/2 month old iguana and I really want to take it because I have already raised one iguana who is 4 years old now. Anyway, this iguana that I want to adopt (I'll call it Rocky) looks a bit unhealthy to me. First, he has a lower jaw which sticks out farther than his upper jaw. It just sticks out the tiniest bit, but it still is noticeable if you look closely. Second, on his front leg, there is a brown scablike growth surrounded by a aple area of skin about the size of a dime. You could compare the brown scab to a flea bite on a cat or dog. The thing is, the girl said Rocky has had this growth since she got him 3 months ago. Will this growth ever dissapear? The last thing, is that Rocky's side has a pointy area where it seems to me like he broke a rib which is sticking out of his chest. Will this heal? The iguana also seems to be a bit aggressive and he whips his tail a lot, but the girl claims he hasn't bitten anyone. Is this iguana worth adopting? The reason I want to adopt it so much is because this girl just doesnot know how to care for an iguana. She feeds them the wrong things, raises them in the wrong conditions and she's owned six iguanas, all who have not lived past one!!! I want to save this poor baby, but I'd like to know if you think it would be worth it. If the iguana will turn out fine as an adult, I definatley want to adopt it. Please let me know what you think!!! Thanks!
