mike ~ ya know, i'd try to get him to poop in the tub with *no* water so you can get a better idea of if this is really diarrhea or not ... it sounds like *maybe* it's not ... iZ's poop will vary from time to time, going from fairly firm (+ scoopable) to fairly soft (but still within healthy limits) ... tonite for instance, was one of the nites that it did pretty much disintegrate right away ... but ... if it's coming out "formed" and then disintegrating, it's not diarrhea ... try getting him to just poop in the tub ... or watch closely as he does poop ... diarrhea won't be formed at all, and disintegrating poop isn't diarrhea ... (make sense?)
about salmonella ... don't let the word freak you out! your ig has had salmonella since the day it was hatched + will have it all of it's life ... if you take the right precautions, it is highly unlikely that *you* will ever catch it ... all that means is thoroughly washing your hands after handling your ig + it's dishes, etc ... cleaning the tub (really, once is plenty) ... not putting your ig's dishes in the kitchen sink, etc etc ... restricting your ig's roaming/exercise isn't necessary *unless* he's uncontrollably pooping ... which he's not ...
really, sounds like he might be just fine ... and sounds like he's got *you* pretty well trained too! *grin* ... let me know how tomorrow's poop goes ... (i don't like igs bein' sick!!!)
Bon.
