Mating bites are usually more gentle than agressive ones, kind of just to hold you in place while they mate.
I haven't had to use any ig sex toys for my guy, but I do have 3 female igs for my male. :) If you know someone close who has a mature female ig that might let him mate sometimes that helps also.

Green towels work for some. They also have a tuatura stuffed animal at The Nature Company store that looks like an iguana.

Just be careful around that mouth and don't get any more stiches! :)
