Most seeds in plants have some kind of toxin in them, alneit not usually enough to kill anything. As far as what kind of toxin is in the skins, I don't know (you're the one that does names, not me! *g*), but I've always been cautioned against eating the skinks myself, because they could make you sick, so when it came to the iguanas, I figured it was the same story. Perhaps it was some sort of parental urban legend, *shrug* but I seem to remember some ig book (Maybe Frye's?) that said the skin was toxic.
