when the customer hasn't done their research on a reptile before purchasing it, the petstore employee SHOULD (for the well being of the reptile) discourage the customer from even considering that reptile. You mentioned don't buy a 6 foot couch if you don't want one, well, an iglet in a pet store isn't 6 foot when they're that age.....customers (new ig owners) only see a cute alittle lizard when they walk into the store.....not a 6 foot lizard. Which without research OR the employee at the store telling them the truth about iguanas, will the customer even have a clue to what they are in for.
What's right......and what's just plain wrong??
If pet store owners wish to be as "dumb" as customers who don't do research before purchasing, then I blame them as much as impulse buyers!! Stand up for the reptiles you sell, if not.....why don't you just put them to sleep and make it easy on them and quit selling them....because in the end, you're helping the customer kill the reptile, by way of a slow painful death!!!!!
