You'll have to find your own choice on this, but this is the way our Ig is kept warm at night in the summer and winter respecivly. Due to the warmer summer conditions, we only have a heat pad(like what you would lay on if your back hurt) that is under a wool pad that is set to about 85 degrees I think, which our Ig sleeps on every night. As for winter we have a red heat lamp above the enclosure that gives off a little extra heat to absorb in the night. The heat lamp is on a timer for night hours only, since we don't need it during the day. And our cage is also a free flowing cage made of mesh, so we have the same problem with heating at night and in the winter, but due to the heat pad which is in the cage, and the heat lamp overhead, we have never had a problem. I can pick her up any time and she is tired but still warm. If you have heat lamps now, and she is warm to the touch at night, you probably are doing fine. Hope that helped.

: okay, this seems to fall more in the normal category..we're still going to keep the vet visit on friday just to be sure and to have a check-up on them. alright, i have another question for you guys. we just recently switched from a glass aquarium to a homemade thing that is mesh on the outside and we're having trouble keeping it up to temperature. during the day here, it's like 100 degrees outside so that's not a problem, but it night it seems relatively cold...what is the best way to keep it warm at night? currently i have a few heat bulbs pointed at it which seem to make no difference. i am going to price ceramic heating elements in a little while. would that or an under-tank heating thing be better?
: i think that could be the cause of the sneezing...really, other than the sneezing they seem very healthy and are very good looking iguanas...
: thanks,
