: Hi all, I just found this forum and wanted to tell about my "Fred". On fathers day my frined calls me and asks if I want an ig, I say sure he says come and get it. It just fell out of my tree. So I go and get him. I take him home and his tail was a mess. I was going to clean it up myself but when I looked close and saw maggots crawling in there I said "this is beyond me" so I took him to an emergency vet. The vet put him under and broke the tail off at the next joint up. He is about 12" STV. His poor tail is only about 6". He was less then 2lbs. That was a $163 bill. I have taken him back 3 more times for bandage changes and fecal tests. The vet and assistants all love Fred saying he is a sweety. And so far he has been very good. I have him in a 55 gallon aquarium for now but I am planning on building something much larger in the near future. I must say this is the most expensive pet I have ever had. But he is the coolest.

hi im sure youll take better care of him than his owner did . alot of people think iguanas are easy to care for not!!!! they can be a handeful at times . i just took my male 4feet 2 days ago to the vet she checked him out quick and charged me $183.00 but thats life if you take care of him he wont have to go to the vet probably ever again.
