: My baby Iguana is a little crazy like most baby iguanas...How can i tame him better?? Anyone have any tips or methods they used?? Also, I am providing UV lighting but wanted to know what's the deal with the T-Rex UV drops?? thanks
Solar drops is just liquid Vitamin D ...supposedly igs don't utilize oral vitamin D & since its a fat soluble vit. is stored and they can overdose from it=hypervitamintosis D
When you say UV....what do you mean...uvb?
3 types uva=light & heat...like a light bulb,
uvb= long wave full spectrum flourescent lamps
uvc=short wave radiation DNA damage causing radiation!! Please tell me it isn't the 3rd!! just kiddin....
Anyway...if ya have a uvb emitting lamp..you're ig is manufacturing his own Vitamin D. He cannot overdose from Vitamin D made from natural unfiltered sunlight or artificial uvb lighting.
Some igs never tame. Do not give up tryin tho...just your prescence, watching you,you talkin to him reading to him...gaining trust...So many times we impose ourselves on these poor guys, move em when they don't wanna move, bug em...don't be in a hurry...to tame him. He'll mellow as he ages, gets used to you...then around 4 or 5 he'll turn on ya! j/k...I hope not!! Here's Tricia Powers website on taming iglets....very good reading!
