Several of my kids do this, including Thelma and Isabelle, but with them it's a possessive thing. Everyone gets their own dish but these two have to lay in their food first, till the other guys are done eating, and then they eat theirs. It's like they are saying "neener, neener, your food is all gone and I'm still eating!" Makes no sense, maybe they are just proud of their restraint. LOL
