how to open an ig's mouth??? verrrrrrrrrrrrrry carefully!!! (*grin*) ... iZ has always been pretty good about lettin' me look in his mouth ... what i do is gently hold the lower jaw between my thumb + forefinger of one hand, the upper jaw with the thumb + forefinger of the other and *gently* pull his mouth open ... look fast!!! he's not gonna want to sit there like that very long at all!!! but you should be able to get a quick glance + at least an idea if you need medical attention or not ...
iZ + i had a brief visit with one bad vet who tried to use a hemostat to pry his mouth open ... stupid b .... never mind ... point is, don't try to *force* it, it won't work, it'll upset your ig and maybe earn you a good chomp ... (btw, i pushed the stupid vet's hand out of the way and showed her the *real* way to open an ig's mouth and then we left .... )
