the reason to avoid acidic foods is that they tend to irritate the ig's mouth/tongue ... so if you do feed these things, you need to watch that it's not bothering your ig's mouth ... iZ *LOVES* oranges and they've never bothered him (+ they're good for his bladder) ... iZ throws an absolute *fit* if he doesn't have some orange sections in his supper salad ... *whew* ... watch out if someone forgot to stock up!!!!

i'd stay away from salsa cuz of the salt + preservatives ...
