Sorry to disappoint you but the head-bobbing is done by both sexes. Our female gets herself all skinny & thin with her back up, puffs out the dewlap and bobs right back at the male when they are having conversations. LOL The difference that I've noted between male & female which includes the femoral pores business is that the male's spikes are taller; his dewlap is much bigger than hers; the top of his head where it connects to the neck has 2 distinctive "bumps" whereas hers are practically nonexistent.
I've read that it isn't until an iguana is about 2 years old that you can tell what sex they are. We got lucky on our guesses because we got both of ours when they were still babies. She "just seemed like a girl" and she is and he "acts like a boy" and it turned out he is. Comparing their actions/emotions to humans is not the scientifically correct way to sex them; but it worked for us! LOL LOL
If this becomes a problem with the domination, you will need to devise a way of keeping them separate & may have to go as far as separate rooms or covering a tank while the dominated one eats. It can become a serious problem. Ours get along for the most part but every once in a while one will get feisty.
Hope this helps you!
