CONGRATS! I'm a recent adoptee too!

Yep.. I got Gilbert about a month ago.. from a person who thought he would be a good christmas present for a small child :( (don't get me started on my "no pets for xmas rant!) I have been using Indoor/Outdoor carpeting. The good old green astroturf type stuff from the hardware store. It's pretty easy to take care of, seems to do the trick, and it's pretty darned cheap! And it's sooooooooo much fun, going into the store and insisting that they cut an 11 inch strip off of the roll, instead of buying the precut patio-sized pieces! (bahahahahaha ok..so I don't get out much!) The strip I got cost me 43 cents. Quite a bit different than the 14 dollars I spent at the pet store for a 11X24 piece. Then just cut it to fit the tank, and you're set.

ONE THING, make SURE that you trim all of the loose strings around the edges. It was no fun for either party, prying Gilbert's little green lips open to get that string back! ;)

BTW.. Taco is a gret name for an Ig (IMHO) but it keeps reminding me of that line from the old 80's song "Mexican Radio" I won't repeat it, 'cause I don't want to get beat up..
