: Hello,
: I just got an ig by way of chance ...My sons friend got an ig from a fair and his mom said he couldn't have one and she was just going to let it die or let it lose sooooo my son came home and told me about this poor little guy and I said what are you waiting for go bring that little iggy home . So now we have an ig ,we named him/her Taco . It seems all I have been doing is reading everything I can find about igs . But have some Q's .I'll start with what is the best thing I should have on the bottom of the tank? A friend of mine has an ig and she puts kitty litter on the bottom of hers is this ok ? More Q's to follow
: Thank You

CONGRATS! I'm a recent adoptee too!
Yep.. I got Gilbert about a month ago.. from a person who thought he would be a good christmas present for a small child :( (don't get me started on my "no pets for xmas rant!) ONE THING, make SURE that you trim all of the loose strings around the edges. It was no fun for either party, prying Gilbert's little green lips open to get that string back! ;) BTW.. Taco is a gret name for an Ig (IMHO) but it keeps reminding me of that line from the old 80's song "Mexican Radio" I won't repeat it, 'cause I don't want to get beat up.. Peace..Love..and Leafy Greens!
