: PETSHOPS--THE CURSE HAS STRUCK ME TOO!! i cannot sleep since the experience. i went into a petshop yesterday, just to be appalled. i never used to feel this way and i have gone inside this petshop often thoughout the years. yes, they had baby igs (so cute). but that was the end of it for cuteness. it was so sad. they were in a plastic container with no vent. no heat. no light.and they were given green leaf lettuce and brocolli.(i realize this is probably spelled wrong. but i dont like it, dont have to know how to spell it. haha) I was looking for new lighting for fattys cage, and figured a petshop that tried to sell the reptile should maybe like... ahhh....sell the required lighting equipment. They didnt of course. i'm still waiting to calm down ............it isnt happening! this completely baffles me...why? why would they try and make $7.00 on the ig but not try and make the almighty big bucks on the equipment? just to torture the poor sad baby iglets? thennnnnnn.......i went home. only to have a friend of my sons show up at the door. this friend has an ig that i know, for a fact, he feeds dog food.because my son wanted to feed ours dog food when he brought fatty home. i was at least THAT smart and wouldnt let him do that. no no no ... i , in all my proudness, fed him iceberg lettuce--BECAUSE i KNEW how to do this...i am so sorry for your start in this world, fatty :( John, my sons friend, keeps his ig in an aquarium. he hadnt seen my cage, since i started listening to all you fine iggy people. and he was so impressed. good sign, maybe he will follow suit... yeah right. Then he started talking about how his friends ig died , but he was really really old, after all it was 5 yrs old!, from a broken back and did i know you have to give them a vitamin pill once a month because they need calcium and thats how they get it... my younger son,ben, kept trying to get him to stop talking for his sake but........ yeah i had to break in. I TRIED TO TELL BEN THAT JOHN STARTED IT!!! then i HAD to ask him what DID he feed his ig.... ah, ah, ah, lettuce....was my answer.but we all know better, he isn't even doing that. so i asked him what kind of lettuce.... ( ben is cringing now!!!) he has seen me in action with some of his friends....... not a very pretty sight. anyway i was nice, even though i just wanted to shove him in my cellar and lock the door and then throw in a vitamin once a month, JUST TO KEEP HIM HEALTHY WITH EXTRA CALCIUM......ok i'm back, and breathing slowly now...ANYWAY john recieved a good ol mom wack and then some basics in IG 101. ben gave it up and went back to nintendo.....he tried.
: i'm not done yet... then ben had a basketball game that evening ( GO RAMS) they lost. poor ben. but he made a great 3 point shot and got fouled in the process... oh yeah... my story. sorry..anyway.... while at the game i was telling a friend of HD's and mine (clay- remember him hd and sue2?) about how jeff and sue and i met again on the ig forum and he thought that was funny and wanted me so say hi to jeff and by the way,he says, just what do those iguanas eat? mice?..................oh i will NEVER give up........
