Last year I met a teen at a park when I had my igs out there who told me he fed his 2 year old iguana mealworms ONLY since he had him as an iglet. I about had a heart attack!... I was going on and on...about proper diet onto deaf ears....hire a teen while they still know everything right? The weird thing is I told his mom that they were hiring at my job..she's an lvn...anyway...His mom gets the job...I saw her at work a month later and asked her if Derek changed his igs diet at all..nope! I printed out all kinds of info for her son and carried it with me to work in hopes of seeing her. After a couplea months...I started asking people where's Elizabeth? Well...She got fired! lololol..Poor ig...To this day I wonder if he's still alive ...As Jamie said...it SUCKS to care! but we gotta know our limitations too! I'd try to print out some info and give to the kids (tell em its great bathroom reading) & the pet shop...also write them a letter telling them you will not patronize them if they do not provide at least basic care for their reptiles. Pet shops are under no obligation to provide enhanced care to reptiles...because of the quick sale/turnover. If there is any way I can communicate better care for igs...I will! I don't care that it is onto deaf ears either! I was just as verbose(?) for years at Kingsnake Boa Forum...about snakes as I am here now...poor poor Iguana Forum!! lolol...thinking about which Forum to check out next....turtle, bearded dragon, tortoise, I know the monitor forum!! lmao
