I have been using the UV heat light for awhile now - I have it on from 6 in the am until 6 at night--I have a 4ft open cage and have it in one corner of the cage - iggie seems to be fine with it - I have it in a regular heavy light socket but because the bulb sticks out of the light fixure, we have the light propped up on two bricks--the company sends you a casing to use with the light but I found that no air gets in this and it started to smell funny--so I dumped that for the bricks--the light fixture rests on the bricks and makes it a little higher on the cage top--just watch were you put the light because it gets very hot - make sure your iggie has a cool down spot.
