Yancey...let's all calm down here...Im so confused and I admit I haven't been keepin up with what your ig is doin since the first time you posted, but Im tryin to sort this out...so excuse me typing out loud here. Your ig has been diagnosed by a vet as having an impaction/ obstruction this was last week? The diagnosis was made with the use of radiograph. She has seen a vet 4 times in a week. Surgery is out of the question per one vet. The vet said give her mineral oil. She has had 3 bm's since the diagnosis? Normally...with an impaction/obstruction IF there is a bm ...it is seepage...a tiny amount of feces that slides AROUND/BY an impaction/obstruction. Has she vomited any? What is the amount and consistency of the bm...normal amount? diarrhea or formed? Is she eating? and how much? Did you acquire her in this condition? From a pvt party or herp/pet store?
Im afraid is she is NOT eating, if she is having SEEPAGE only, and the impaction remains...She WILL DIE without surgery. So to the vet that said she won't make it thru the surgery....he is basically telling you he doesn't know how or what to do...and should exempt himself from giving you advice because he's incompetent. I would suggest getting another X-ray done...perhaps she was/is just constipated, or SOME of the impaction is breaking up. I'll provide you with a link to ARAV...reptile vets ..just addresses & names of vets in your area...you'll need phone directory/information to help ya with phone numbers. If you got your ig from a herp store/pet store...I would take her back and demand any monies you paid for her back, as she is grossly ill. There is no way around this impaction...if X-rays continue to reveal same....except with surgery. This situation IS beyond ANY advice anyone online can do for her. I don't know what else to tell ya Yancey, but to find a competent vet...experienced with intestinal obstructions.
