Hey thanks for the warm welcome,
I bought the light at herpsupplies.com
I live in southern California, in the desert, and am currently saving up to build Spike new cages, one for outside and one for inside. It's quite dry outside, 10% humidity at the highest in the summer monthes, so I'll have to give him a kiddie pool and maybe a misting system too.
My son just turned 2 in March, He knows he's not allowed to touch Spike either and when I feed Spike he knows to stand way back in case Spike decides to come out. I can only take Spike out of his cage once my son goes to sleep, or when my husbands off work so I can be alone with Spike, he's not to comfortable out around other people.
I didn't know if you left them outside during the summer that they'd need no special lighting during the winter, thanks for that bit off advice, I would rather spend the money I spend on lights to build him a cage outside, since the sun is better for them than some fake sun light. I could probably have my ig outside half the year, but it does get really hot outside. What's the max temp. they should be exposed to? Right now it's getting over 100 during the day and around 70 at night.
Well thanks again.
bye,
Roxanne
