Start the baths any day. With luck, he will poop in the tub and get used to it. Give him 2 weeks or so to calm down down. he should be easier to catch then. Still, it may be a while till he doesn't mind you taking him out. I have a rescue that still runs after 6 month. He is an angel once he is out.
