Hi everyone,
I'm new here and I'm greatly enjoying all of the info I've found.
Well Lisa-Marie, I had the same problem with my ig, Spike. I only had him for about two monthes before I found out I was pregnant, and being afraid of salmonella I only fed him and cleaned his cage with gloves on only when it needed it. He was so wild for the longest time. Then a several monthes ago- he is now three years old- I got him a new bigger cage and since then he has slowly begun to let me handle him and he no longer whips and bites me. It is so nice to be able to open his cage door and feed him without him charging me, and actually being able to hold him without him struggling to get back in his cage, he still lets me know when he's had enough though. I though I'd never have him "tame"- it's more like he's learned to trust me.
well good luck, don't give up and be patient.
