Not sure about the pecan,,,,

but a few ants won't hurt him.We live in Fla and we have two igs,that for some strange reason,love to lay on ant hills.The ants have never swarmed them and we move them right away,,but not one second later,,,they go right back and lay their tummys on the hills again!!!
I wouldn't want to take chances,,so keep after the few ants you do see and it should be alright.As for pecan ,got me there,but I would guess its ok.
