: : I have a question...I have seen quite a few postings in the past
: : few days about not leaving UV Heat lamps on for more than 3 hours
: : at a time. Is that UVA lamps or UVB lamps? Because the UVA
: : lamps are for heat and the UVB lamps for Ultraviolet rays...correct???
: : I have been leaving my UVB lamp on for 8 hours a day...is this
: : not correct? I also have an incandescent lamp on him for 8 hours
: : a day. An incandescent lamp is for heat correct? I am so new at
: : this and every few weeks, I learn something new that I am doing
: : wrong. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
I would think that the new UV HEAT LAMPS which I had a question on should only be left on for about 3 hours a day. You figure that if the light is suppose to act like the sun you wouldn't keep your iguauna in the sun all day - so I reduced my light from 8 hours to 3 hours and the rest of the day - the UV (long lights) and the basking light for 9 hours.
