Yes.....oh yes!....females most definitely will hiss...and whip & snap. LOL Our Lightning girl was none too happy with what the vet & his people did to her and tried to take it out on us for days! Every time I put my hand in her cage she'd draw up tall and mouth wide open HISSSSS then snap at my hand. Took a gentle voice, gentle touch and patience to settle her back down.
