: Hey all,
:
: Yet one more thing that I saw advertised in the _Reptiles_ magazine that I thought looked really cool and worth sharing with you all:
:
: It's something from the UVHeat company. (You know the ones that make the questionable heat and UVB bulbs. I say questionable because some people have their qualms about them, and because I haven't yet gotten one to try out, altho I plan to.) It's called the "UV-B-Sure Sensor Card", and it's a card about the size of a credit card, and it's supposed to be able to detect the amount of ultra-violet radiation that your UVB bulbs put out (or don't put out, whatever the case may be). It's supposed to work with any UVB bulb, as well as in diffuse shade of natural sunlight. It's $11.99, which is of course quite a large sum, but if it works, it could prove to be a pretty valuable little gadget. Anyone tried one of these or heard anything about them? I think I'll probably order one of them and try it out one of these days, in which case I'll naturally report to you all about it. :)
:
: Best,
: Jamie/JBug
I have the UVHeat light and I was keeping it on for 8 hours-what they don't tell you is that I believe it is only suppose to be left on for about 3 hours - I had it on for 8 hours and I believe it was a bit harmful for iggie. Now I keep it on for 3 hours and the rest of the time is the normal lights - UV heat and basking spot lights.
