Saw where you got to spend a lovely evening in the ER *grin* Wanted to let you know, in case you didn't know already, that reptile bites ARE different from other animal bites. Couldn't tell from your post if your ear was bitten or clawed---either way bet it hurt! ;o(

Here's an excerpt that I wanted to be sure you were aware of in case it was from a bite:

"Tell your doctor that reptiles carry Gram negative bacteria in their mouths. This will affect the type of oral antibiotic they prescribe for you if they are going to prescribe any - "

If you were put on antibiotics, you could just check with your pharmacist to verify that it will take care of gram negative. If you weren't put on them, then you might want to contact your primary care physician and ask about it.

Not trying to worry YOU just inform you. This coming from a mom whose son was bitten by a squirrel and the ER put him on the wrong antibiotic for a "rodent" type animal--of course, if these things would happen during office hours he wouldn't have had the extra misery & extra swelling--his own dr. took the time to look it up in some special book and got him on the correct one & swelling was gone within 24 hours of right Rx.
