dehydration too.
electrolytes, pedyalite, or even gatorade, plus lotsa water can help.
supplement of vitamin E and A (though don't overdose the A!!!) can help the skin.
4 months w/o UV is A LOT, and it will take mor ethan a few weeks to regain proper color.
Carrots can help the skin, because they contain carotene.
since it's summer now, natural sunshine in an out-door enclosure made of rubber-coated wire mesh can help re-vitalize him. or a place at the window with mesh (glass doesnt filter UV).
a good diet, and little stress will work out good.
REMEMBER, it can also be STRESS that is causing the dark coloration. Being so small, juveniles can stress out easily, if the enclosure is too SMALL, too SHORT, and no HIDING spot.
Run a full check list to make sure you're doing the right thing in the care. If you miss something, fix the problem ASAP!
You've come to the right place, so keep posting questions, and we'll help!
good luck!
