iZ used to totally freak too ..... he especially seemed to NOT like the sound of the tub faucet, so i get the water ready and then get him ....
he doesn't like to get in water deep enough to float right away ..... if i just put a couple inches of water in at first and sprinkle him with water from a glass (and then later on down the road, slowly (QUIETLY *grin*) add more water, he's ok ....
but probably for the first 9 months he lived with me, he just got misted ..... he was soooooooo terrifed of the tub that it really didin't seem worth it ..... (then he got constipated really bad once and i put him in a warm tub to soak + poop .... it worked ... and NOW he likes the tub .... sometimes)
oh! one thing that seemed to help too is that i put a towel over the side of the tub so he has a way out by himself (even tho i'm in there with him) ... when he knows he can get out IF he wants, he does ok ..... he checks for that towel first thing when his touches water tho!!! and as soon as he says he wants out i get him out .....
patience !!!!! somedays he doesn't want to get wet ... period! that's ok ... somedays I don't want to either!!!!! :)
