: my sister has one and I want to get one.. Is a 20 gallon "long" big enough for a small iguana? I will make an enclosuer for it like my sisters.. how long will it be ok for the iguana to live in?
If I was you I would stick with turtles for now, they sound like a handful to you.
Not trying to be mean, but I know you are very young and I have heard your experiences.
Wait until your older(at least 18) and mature enough to care for one. They are 50 times more
responsability than turtles, I know. There is no way you can build a decent cage for $30,
The plastic or wire mesh for a suitable cage costs just that.
A 20G is too small for any iguana, smallest to start would be a 55G and that would be at the most 6 months to a year.
Stick with turtles for now. Take care.
