We have a 4 y/o female ig and a 3 y/o male ig. Males are noted for being aggressive; but no one told our male this! LOL He is very sweet and gentle. Our female is the one you have to watch out for when she's in a "mood."
Do you know if your friend has had this ig forever or is he new to her? If she's had him for a long time, has there been any recent trauma in his life? Change of habitat, diet, injury, etc. etc. Answers to those questions could help us help her.
There are ways to "tame" an iguana but you have to have extreme patience. If this behavior is not common, then again patience will help. Our female had to have an operation. During her recovery period she was a holy terror. But we remained patient and understanding and she's her old self again......she still has her moods but nothing like what we experienced post-op.
Don't know if any of this helps...but if you'll get some more info maybe those of us here can offer more suggestions.
