like iZ's mom mentioned, a proper iguana diet does not need supplements, or a lot of it.
the best calcium supp. are phosphr' free.
calcium carbonate are also good supp.
calcium lactate is not very digestible.
IF other supplements ALREADY contain D3 and A, avoid calcium supp WITH D3, since and overdose of either vitamin can be harmful to iguanas.
NATURAL vitamin D3is biologically synthesized with unfiltered sunlight, or the ol' trusty Iguana Lite's .
I give Soni a load of supplements once a week in the winter, and every other week in the summer, since he stays in is out-door enclosure (8' sq!), and is still a 'teen-ager'.
Once-a-week supplementation is adequate, but not really necessary if the animal is healthy and has a good diet.
All this info and knowledge that makes me look sooo smart i got from the Ultimate Iguana Manual.
the end.
