With the results the other person had and the results you *feel* you are starting to get....I'd stick with what you are doing and give it some time. Unless you feel that withholding ampho from him is really detrimental to him, I'd wait.

Is it the aluminum part of the ampho that makes it the better binder? What does this dr. have to say about the pitfalls of aluminum then?

And have you approached your vet about giving you a Rx for the calcium acetate? BTW I read labels the other day....it was calcium CITRate that I saw. *grin* Hey, it did end with the same 3 letters! (I'm not fussing at you...you know it is hard to convey tone in typed conversations!)

I wonder if there are any foods that are natural phos binders? You'd think with all these that are calcium binders......but NO! Why make it easy on us, huh??? Wonder if Gina knows? I think I'll put up a flare for her on that question. *grin*
