iZ update

iZ dropped back down to 7.5 pounds again ... *sigh* (his 'normal, healthy' weight is 11+) ... however, he looks *nothing* like the death-camp lizard that he did last fall when he was at this same weight! the biggest difference this time is that he's *not* dehydrated, just a bit thin around the middle ...

he's been off "traditional" meds for 6 days now ... (+ on his new meds) ... ok, now i know it could be pure coincidence and alot of other things, but he's lookin' fantastic! the lesions on his head are *finally* starting to fade away ... his nose got that 'dipped in wax' look and then actually *shed* within 3 days, a new world's record! + it's funny, but he actually lets me rub on his nose to loosen the itchies ... he's *never* appreciated that before!

he pooped *really* good last night + for the 1st time in weeks that it was "just right" ... i know that's from getting off the alum. ... + man oh man! you should see this ig eat!!! he has never been a breakfast eater, but these last few days, he has chomped down all his breakfast and then he eats a *huge* supper later on ... (Des, did you say CS is an appetite stimulant?! *whew*!) it is *so* good to see him eat!

he's been his calm, happy self, no more window slamming scares to turn him into Mr. Hyde ... his color is great, his muscle tone is great, his skin + scales just look better everyday! the black skin around the tympanic scale was all white, dry skin looking and it is now a shiny black again ... think he was getting dehydrated, but is good now ... mouth isn't gummy ...

i know what has helped is that medicine time isn't stressful any more ... the only medicine i can't hide in his food is the silver and it's a small squirt + has no taste, so no big deal! the MSM is crushed + hidden in an orange, and the TUMs + his vitamins are in an orange *plus* he likes the taste ... he definitely likes that humommy isn't pickin' on him so much!

i'm totally blown away by his improvement in just a few days ... am bracing myself that this is all just a fluke + we're heading for a downward spiral again ... but ... soooo ... so far so good!

everyone keep your fingers + toes crossed + keep up the chanting!
