Colloidal Silver has been the craze of the health food crowd for close to a hundred years. Virtually all positive claims have been anecdotal with no proven scientific facts as per repetitive blind and/or double blind studies.
What does happen is that since silver is a metal it will deposit in the skin tissue and will cause PERMANENT silver/gray deposits in the skin ( I will assume both in humans and lizards ).
Although not highly toxic any type of long term metal consumption will eventually cause negative long term and permanent affects.
The fact that the health food and alternative medicine industries have embraced CS does not mean that it has ANY beneficial effects, nor does it mean that there are NO negative side effects. Both the AMA Journal and Lancet ( sic ) have had articles showing the extreme negative effects of CS on humans.
The fact that it is labelled a food supplement is a tactic by the health food industry to avoid FDA regulations and allows the industry to sell the product at inflated prices and unproven benefits ( Similiar tactics and claims have been used with actual and potentially harmful sales of herb and chemical based steroids and steroid type supplements )
I would definitely get all sides of the story, rather than just the one that stands to get a profit from continued sales and promotion.
