Swaddle him in a towel using a toenail clippers or what Ive used (dog nail clippers..with the curved razor like blade) taking one claw out at a time trim just the lower 1/3 tip. Even tho his claws will not be razor sharp they still can do damage so protect your forearms...(may want to use a pair of old tube socks cut off at the closed end for wrist & foream gaurds when handling him if your not wearing long sleeves) Do this late evening or early am (ig "down" times) haven't warmed up/or cooling down ready to snooze and less likely to fuss. Another thing you can do is get your ig to climb like his cage if hardware cloth...while he's hooked onto the wire....trim his nails then. Get yourself some Kwik-Stop or other coagulant at pet stores (usually in the bird section) or at market get cornstarch have a bit on hand in a small cup/bottle cap...in event of trimming nail a little too much and bleeds...not to panic...dip the nail in the Kwik-stop or cornstarch and will stop the bleeding. Do not be alarmed if you see blood spots the next day or two...he's just prolly opened it up again with his antics....redip if you see fresh blood...will subside in a day or two.
