I'm pretty sure that most of you all have heard tihs story, so g'head and skip on if you have....

One night a couple years ago, Cree and I were watching "Deep Impact" (LOVE Morgan Freeman!), and we were deeply engrossed. Shakai was laying on "her" chair, by the couch. We were munching on hot buttered popcorn with brewer's yeast on it (YUM!). Now, Shakai is a junk food junkie, and she loves popcorn. She was casting me mournful glances, occasionally coming over to lick me arm and try to be sweet. After a while, she finally came all the way up to me, and put her little paw on my arm. I ignored her. She backed off and I thot she was going to leave us alone. Wrong! She was simply gathering her wits to so what she did next...which was take a flying leap into the bowl of popcorn, scaring us senseless, and knocking the bowl and it's greasy and delicious contents everywhere. Blissfully watching a suspenseful movie and eating tastey grubbin one moment, and the next a tubby 4 pound lizard lands smack in the middle of the bowl! Shakai flew to the floor frantically eating every morsel she could lay her tongue on. We were just as frantically trying to pick them up before she could eat them. Chaos. I don't think we even finished the movie...

And to be honest, I was more worried about the little kernals getting caught in her throat than I was about the butter as AP. Needless to say, she gets locked up when we eat popcorn now..

Best,
Jamie/JBug

: I did not witness this but there was a very short period of time when the pellets were in the beardie's dish inside his cage and then next time I looked, they were all gone! Since Flapjack the beardie hates his pellets and only eats them on accident when they are attached to a piece of squash or other acceptable veggie by his standards, I know he "probably" did not eat all of them. Besides, he was out of the cage around that time. Now I didn't see Sleestack in his cage, but I think he slipped in and snatched them up-- they are fruity flavored and Slee is a major sweet/fruit junkie!!! I couldn't find any residue on his mouth which is puzzling, but he ate some of his own veggies afterwards which may have cleared away all of the evidence. Anyway, I am feeling very horrible and guilty because he had never been fed protein in his life and now his perfect record is ruined! There was only about one half ig mouthful of pellets but I still wish it hadn't happened. What a sneaky bastard he is! Maybe he was trying to get back at Flapjack (since FJ has been bobbing at him and head butting him any time he gets down to floor level in the iguana room)
