I got Skunka a 50 gal. nesting box a month ago, and this week discovered that gnats were nesting in it! It was a soil with a lot of peat and no fertilizers. I need to buy 4 more bags of soil to do it again, but how can I prevent the gnats? I normally don't have them in my house at all, and once they were there, I didn't even see them because they were in the box. And is there any specific soil I should use?

P.S. Skunka's leg is still bothering her, but she's improving a bit, and she gets 2 bites of bread a day, with her med doses, so I'm not stressing too much on her food intake; she has eaten a few bites of greens here and there when I hand feed her, so I hope it continues well.
