just be prepared to have to edit it somehow when you find out a couple of years later that "she" is a "he" or vice versa. Seen that happen a lot. *grin* So you might want to go with something that is more of a generic name if you don't go with an older iguana.

We'd had our first iguana for a bit before naming. Name became Lightning based on the speed with which it could take off *grin* She is a girl and the name still fits.

Our second iguana we got a year later and felt sure he was a male. It turned out that we were right. But we had already named him. It was a given that with Lightning we had to have....Thunder.
