Do you know what kind? A couple of years ago we had a baby robin fall out of its nest. Took it in and fed it strained baby meats by an eyedropper. Later took it out in the backyard for some sun. Amazingly it call for its mom, and the mom flew down and fed it bugs. So from then on I would just take it out in the backyard 3 times a day. Mom would come down and take care of it. The mommy bird and I got along great, she seemed to know I was helping.
Only problem that we had was when Walt (not the regular caretaker of little "Auto" went to pick him up. The mommy flew down and attacked him. Where is the movie camera when you really need one. I had to go out and pick him up. Mom sat on the fence a couple of feet away and did nothing.
