Three weeks ago I took Skunka to the vet and confirmed my suspicion
that she is gravid. He gave me some neo-calglucon, and a topical
scrub for a skin wound she had which was causing an infection. Her
activity level increased for a couple of weeks, and I took her for a
follow-up last Tuesday. That day, she had pooped, with only thick
urates, no solids. She ate that day, and struggled like heck at the
vets when we trimmed her nails. I took her home, gave her a bath, and
put her in her 3 week old nesting box(50 gallon trash can), which she
promptly exited. The next day, she stopped eating, and she seldom
leaves her window-seat, unless she's trying to get away from the bad
mommy-with-calcium. I still give her a daily bath, and the calcium
twice a day, but she seems very uncomfortable. I thought she may be
getting close to laying, but she's not digging or anything - just
laying there. She has been drinking lots of water, and goes to potty
about every other day (only urates). Should I be worried? The vet said
she seemed fine on Tues., but maybe I should get a second opinion...
When I take her outside, and she moves around, most of the time she
even drags her belly unless she's going far. She's lost quite a bit
of weight, and I figure she's pretty weak. Her breathing seems a
bit shallow, like there's not even room for air. Sorry this is so
long, but does this sound like the experiences your igs have had?
