I haven't heard of the wild iguanas being that far north before, but they could be. I'm sure each year they move farther and farther north in Florida. You might want to check with the local game warden and find out if there's wild iguana's that have been established in the area yet. If they tell you yes, there's a very good chance that's what you have and if that's the case, it's probably best to release it. If it's a captive iguana, I wouldn't suggest releasing it. If this iguana seems completely scared when you come around the cage or try to handle it, it's more likely to be leaning towards a wild iguana. But if it seems for the most part calm around you, chances are good that it's been in captivity and it would be best not to release it.

PS: If you find out that the game warden says there are wild iguanas in the area, please post another message here, I'd like to keep track of how far north the iguanas are moving.
