: : Thanks for the great site! I feel better now. I can't help but think baby is a female after reading up on things but I think it may take a little more time to tell since "it" is only about 14" long. I keep baby in hiscagemorethan free-roaming but I take care to play with him and let him ride on my shoulder every day while doing stuff around the house. He likes to sit in the sun for a few minutes and hang out in my fake tree. Last night I put some spinach on my shoulder and he ate it which surprised me because usually he's pretty shy about eating around people. Anyway, I'll just keep doing the best I can. Thanks again for the advice! Later....

: Is that Snout to vent or snout to tail? If its snout to tail that's kinda small, unless part of his tail has been broken?
: Do you feed it other things than Spinach? Just checking, spinach overall is not very good for him.
: Collard, turnip, dandelion, mustard greens are the best. Different fruits and veggies will also help. Here's a helping link. Good Luck.

We bought baby from a pet store in August of 99. I
don't know how young he was but pretty small so I'm guessing a year, but I don't know. Maybe he is less than a year. He did lose the tip of his tail about two months after we got him. I have no idea how. The measurement is from snout to tip of tail. I feed him a mixture of spinach, collard greens, carrots, cucumbers, squash and occasionally was giving broccoli, but heard that's not too good for him. I also give him grapes, apple and banana a few times a week.He ate the spinach as I was preparing his meal. We purchased a new kind of UV light in Jan(don't ask me what kind because I'm braindead about these things)and since then he has shed two times, so he's definitely growing. He's a healthy color and very active. I'm new at this so I appreciate the concern. If you have any more tips you want to share, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
