is a Bearded Dragon. Is there something about a dragon he doesn't like? Dragons make a good first lizard as long as you purchase a baby that is well established. The next best choice, IMHO, is also missing, and that would be a savannah monitor. They obtain enough size to be impressive and you can get them on a processed meat diet (turkey). They also can be very sweet and cuddly. Tegus are cool, but Argentines are not all that easy to tame and can be extremely aggressive feeders. Tokays are, well, just Tokays. LOL As far as Cyclura go, they keep easier than green igs, can tolerate a wider range of temps. If he's willing to spend the bucks and has some room to get the lizard out of doors in the summer months, they are well worth the commitment. I love my Cyclura, even the spawn of the devil, Azul.
