hi wel arent ig'g great :)))
wel you realy need the uvb the uva is less important ( i'm not shure here but i dont think they use any of that)
he needs the uvb spectrum to create vitamine d3 wich he needs to absorb (process) calcium
wich is another important thing you need, to watch out for he has to get enough calcium or he might get mbd
i was advised (thanx elliot:) not to give direct vitamine d3 (from a bottle or with reptile calcium preparations)
since that might be poisenus and is not nearly as good as he would make him it self.

oh and taming an ig is a time and efort thing :)
dont let him intimedate you if he whips you or so and just handle him on a daily bassis
( i got some leather gloves the are realy excelent hehehe )
