I've offered this opinion before and didn't get shot, so I'll brave it again.
Iguanas (and all other animals) do not survive by eating things that were going to kill them. Junior has taken nibbles from almost every house plant I own, with some very notable exceptions. I trust that he knows what he is doing, and since he's not dead... it's a good bet he does! BTW - I've had the same experience with my cats, and although dogs are not quite as with it as cats when it comes to self-preservation, my dog regularly barfs up what makes her sick (usually on my mom's antique Persian rug).
Hibiscus is a great ig snack, as is dandelion, clover, grass and many other common lawn items. Obviously everything should be pesticide free.
: Yesterday I let Charlie go outside for a little bit. He had a good time with my hibiscus bush. Wonding what kind of plands a not healthy for him. Grass, weeds, etc.c. He took a bite out of my strawberry plant also.
