Wow...tuff question...citronella about the only effective thing I can think of that will enable you to kill bugs and not harm your reptiles....What I would do is : Bomb the place. Plug/chaulk up EVERY single hole (look around drain pipes kitchen & bath) or cable holes in walls, check cove or baseboards etc so bugs can't get inside FIRST
remove your reptiles/pets for at least 24 hours (time recommended for indoor caged birds who's lungs are super sensitive moreso than a reptiles)ONCE *YOU* CANNOT smell the chemicals.Have a neighbor or friend "babysit" em for you, or set up a makeshift shelter in the garage or a patio, even some type of set-up outside (inaccessible to predators)....24 hours isn't gonna kill em! as long as you keep them warm, watered, and fed! When you get em back inside they may act weird go off feed...maybe wondering what the heck was that all about! Follow directions on the bombs then make sure you ventilate your place REAL good before allowing your pets back in. This is prolly the most effective and timely way to be rid of the problem in my opinion. The citronella will take a while.
Ive been to the south...I know what you mean about some weird looking & sounding! bugs..Im from California....where the people are weirder than most bugs we have!lolol
Gina (thinking like the Joker in Batman: "what this town needs is an enema! " or maybe a bug bomb!) lmao....enuff coffee for me! ****sigh****
