Something viral, kidney disease if they are a little older, or from chronic poor husbandry (got too cold) or diet. Chronic poor husbandry seems to be the reason why most reptiles get sick so don't upset yourself. Maybe ate something poisoned or toxic some rodents, spiders etc may transfer toxins. Take her to the vet asap. I'd also try the basilisk(?) forum since they seem so similar in care....if you want to preserve the body of the male for necropsy regrigerate dont freeze it...Need a link to a reptile vet?. She needs help asap. Good luck! Sorry your male is gone...but it happens and we are usually wiser next time around. I could start a pet cemetary with all the pets that Ive killed or died one way or another. It happens! Find some good care sheets or book on helmeted igs...Maybe do a web search on them, Nonetheless I wouldn't be reading anything at this point on the web...I'd get her to a herp vet! She may be depressed...even so the vet will need to assess her physical condition first!
