:There are quite a lot of Ctenosaura species found in Mexico (C. acanthgura, C. alfredschmidti, clarki, defensor, hemilopha, pectinata, quinquecarinata and similis). Its not easy to tell just from your descriptuion, but should be eithert similis, hemilopha or pectinata. Check out pics of these three species. The samller ig may have been C. alfredschmidti...but thats very difficult to say. Do you have a pic???
