First....just OUT: I have 2 igs, male (5) and female (6); Thunder & Lightning. Had them since they were babies. Thunder is a VERY laid back male especially in comparison to some other male igs ;o) Lightning has a temper. She was very upset with him the other day and her entire head turned silver/grey, almost the shade you see just before a shed. Once he was removed from what she considers her area she reverted to normal coloring. So it may be that the silver you saw was her "anxious" coloring and now that she realizes you aren't making din-din out of her you are now seeing the turquoise.
2nd....out in SUN. Both of mine will pick up better, more pronounced coloring during the months here that they can get out in real sunshine vs UVB lights. So, if you are speaking of getting real sun, this may be why her colors are becoming prettier.
