Is an 18" UVB light enough for an adult ig in a 3x6x6 cage?

My husband just built a new cage for Bad Boy and I was wondering if an 18" UVB light (placed no more than 15" from his basking spot)is enough UVB for an adult ig. (If we're going to change it we need to do it NOW, before the cage is complete.) We take him out to get 'real' sunlight as often as possible.

What do you think, experienced Igsters?
